Our research project consortium gathered on 8–9 October at the Tvärminne Zoological Station in Hanko. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration across different parts of the research, advance a shared direction, and deepen understanding of the project’s societal impact.
The first day focused on identifying and developing synergies between work packages. Consortium members rotated through discussion points, exploring common themes and opportunities across the work packages. At the end of the day, the ideas that emerged were compiled, and reflections were made on how to further strengthen collaboration in the project’s next phases.
In the evening, we spent time together over dinner and sauna, enjoying a relaxed atmosphere and getting to know each other better.
On the second day, the focus shifted to research impact. In the morning, we discussed impact goals and stories, and examined how our research connects with current policy processes and societal issues. Participants reflected together on what we could do to increase the visibility and practical significance of our work for decision-making and various stakeholders.
The day also included a Baltic Sea-themed nature trail quiz, offering a refreshing moment in the beautiful surroundings of Tvärminne.
The meeting further strengthened the consortium’s team spirit and commitment to the project’s goals: developing research-based solutions to promote sustainable water use and resilient food systems.
