Food and water are fundamental for life, and their availability, quality, and use are linked to a range of environmental, economic, social, and technological factors. In this workshop, we will collaboratively develop scenario narratives, i.e., descriptions of alternative futures, that explore the potential evolution, focusing on the critical interconnections of food and water systems in Finland across various future scenarios. These narratives will serve as a foundation for modelling, providing valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders. They enable the exploration of various potential outcomes while highlighting uncertainties, risks, trade-offs, and strategic actions.
Participants will learn from diverse perspectives brought by the multidisciplinary group and hear insights from leading researchers on pressing issues related to future food systems. In addition, they will have the first access to project results and the opportunity to actively shape these.
We welcome stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to join us in this collaborative effort to envision and shape the future! This workshop is part of the Water-Food Futures project.
Participants are asked to complete a pre-workshop survey and post-workshop feedback form as part of their involvement. The link to these forms will be sent to registered participants later.
